Cary, N.C. — Cetero research, a provider of research services for pharmaceutical firms, has acquired a Texas-based contract research organization.
DGD Research, which is based in San Antonio, is the latest in a series of acquisitions by Cetero, which was launched in 2006.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
With the latest deal, Cetero expands is operational footprint to six clinical sites in St. Louis, Fargo, N.D., East Grand Forks, Minn., Miami, Toronto and Montreal and three laboratories in Houston, Fargo and Toronto.
"The addition of DGD Research to the Cetero family provides unrivaled experience with patient populations to our Phase I-IV [clinical trials] capabilities in therapeutic research, especially within the endocrinology and metabolic disorder areas," said Jerry Merritt, Cetero’s chief executive officer.
The company was created in 2006 through mergers with PRACS Institute, Ltd. of Fargo, N.D., Gateway Medical Research of St. Louis, Mo., and Ba Research International of Houston, Texas. In 2007, Cetero acquired Allied research International in Toronto.
