RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Three organizations focused on entrepreneurs are teaming up for a one-day conference to make the regional business environment a little more flat.
In these days of ever-increasing globalization, the Council for Entrepreneurial Development is teaming up with the North Carolina China Business Association (NCCBA) and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) of the Carolinas for a one-day conference. The Triangle Regional Partnership also is participating.
Its appropriate title: “Globalization.” The date: February 14. The venue: The Embassy Suites hotel in Cary.
Headlining the program is an executive who knows well the hazards and opportunities of international business. Deepak Advani, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of global commerce for Lenovo, will talk about how the world has flattened from his perspective.
Advani has generated a lot of attention for himself, let alone the PC manufacturer, with global marketing campaigns ranging from the NBA to Formula 1 racing, World Cup soccer to the upcoming Summer Olympics in Beijing.
It’s good to see that the CED is working with the NCCBCA and TiE on the program. Both groups have achieved a great deal of success in not only helping entrepreneurs of Indian and Chinese descent but also helping businesses pursue opportunities in India and China.
The fast-growing economies of both countries are growing increasingly important for North Carolina businesses. Those companies provide markets – and perhaps even more important a steady stream of students and entrepreneurs who want to do business and live here.
