Craig Rosen, a veteran life science executive, is the new chairman of the board at biopharmaceutical firm Phase Bioscience.
Rosen’s addition is the latest change at PhaseBio, which named Chris Prior as its chief executive officer in April.
PhaseBio recently licensed drug-discovery technology from Duke University. The company also has its own drug-purification and delivery-process technology. The company closed on $5.4 million in venture funding last fall. It is developing technology for the delivery, purification and production of protein-based therapeutics and other therapeutics. The company is targeting drugs for cancer, diabetes and blood disorders.
“I have long been interested in versatile technology platforms that can create a pipeline of products addressing improved pharmacology, safety and delivery, all at an attractive cost of goods,” Rosen said in a statement. “From my many years of product development experience, I am confident that the technology developed by PhaseBio can deliver exciting therapeutics across numerous therapeutic disciplines to address significant unmet needs.”
Rosen most recently served as chief scientific officer at Teva Biopharmaceuticals. Earlier in his career he was co-founder, chief science officer and chairman at CoGenesys, which was acquired by Teva. He also was a scientific founder and chief science officer at Human Genome Sciences.
