Durham, N.C. — Both lanes of U.S. 501 northbound are closed north of the City of Durham due to an overturned truck.
An asphalt truck overturned Wednesday morning and began leaking hydraulic fluid onto the roadway just after 9:30 a.m. Hazardous materials crews were on the scene. The Department of Transportation expects the closure to last through mid-afternoon.
Detours are posted, and drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible.
